Welcome back readers to the latest edition of Boulder Colorado Home Remodel.  As you may recall in the last issue, the buyers had closed on their dream home and begun the arduous task of demolishing the interior structure they were planning to change.

They had brought in an architect and were following a plan of action to

create a dream home. The property is a an 80’s style townhouse. Dark, dated, the kitchen while good sized was landlocked and the main level half bath was positioned in such a way that it was centered in the home.  Alyson decided to move the bathroom, a rather large undertaking. By doing so, it created great flow with lots of light able to move about in the living space.  The home actually boasts windows on three wall: North, East and West letting in lots of natural light.

The owners also started looking for great deals.  Alyson found some glass designer tile at $3 a square foot at a Home Depot. She purchase every last inch of the stuff.  On another trip, she found fantastic tile flooring that exceeded her expectations. Then she waited patiently for the price to get low enough.

In the end, the cost of the materials was a fraction of the usual fees that owners face in a remodel. By being patient and looking before she needed it, the owner found fantastic values locally.  Continue reading here.
