Boulder In The News
This is my weekly Saturday update, named Boulders. Sort of a play on words of all things Boulder Colorado.
College Review named Boulder Colorado one of the best college towns in the USA. The report made the local news this summer. The report talks about some of the very things I love to blog on: great food, hip things to do, art, outdoor hikes. Oh, college life would be a sweet vacation today from the chores of work!
Blog Action Day
I wrote an essay on equality of housing in Boulder this week as part of Blog Action Day. This great network reports having a total of 1760 bloggers take part in the day from over 116 countries. All posts were focused on tackling extreme inequality. It is an issue that unites us all. My post dealt with the importance of a housing policy that allows everyone that wants to live here to be included. Read the post here.
Boulders Affordable Housing
Boulder continues to have robust sales of properties before entering the MLS. 208 29th St Boulder, 80305 closed $413,000 – a steal when you consider the house had two floors and nearly 2500 square feet in total. This is one of Boulders best financial deals this year.
Top Boulder Closing Of The Week
410 Alpine Ave Boulder, 80304 closed this week for a few thousand less than list price at $862,400. The home only took a handful of days to go under contract. Super lovely house with hand crafted details and in a wonderful location: Newlands/Nobo. I like this area of town, it is one of Boulders best kept secrets, as it is centered on beloved North Boulder Park and is walking distance to Ideal Market and shops.
MIA Luxury Homes Over $1 Million VS Low Rates
For the second week in a row, there are no million dollar or better closings in Boulder. Could be a trend, could be the market, could be those closings will come later in the month. Interest rates are steadily improving though. I’m seeing quotes under 4% for thirty year fixed mortgages. If you wanted to refinance, now is the time.
