Raised On Farm Stands
I was always going to find and fall in love with Munsons Boulder farm market. It was in my blood. Mom took us to the country as kids growing up in Ohio. We had plenty of berry farms nearby and in mid summer those same farms would start offering fresh corn on the cob. My job was to shuck the corn. Dad liked to take us to the apple cider presses in the Fall and my grandparents had a farm out east. Though to be honest – I thought that was a tad boring as a kid.

Fresh Farm Vegetables Boulder Co
Its in my genes though, I love farm stands and the fresh produce and jams, jellies and delights you can find at a local veggie stand. Munsons Boulder farm market is a treasure for our community. Munson Farms has been raising fresh produce since about 1975. They grow a wide array of delicious crops, with a focus on corn in the Summer/Fall and pumpkins and squash in the Fall.

Munsons Boulder Farm Market Next To Fields
The fields with all the crops and produce are right next door to the farm. If something is farm fresh, but not locally grown, its labeled. Late summer, you’ll find Palisades Peaches from the western slope. The corn is some of the best in the region. I especially appreciate that Alfalfa’s is selling locally sourced Munson’s corn in their stores. Check out Bob Munson, family patriarch in his own words.
Halloween Festivities At Munsons Boulder Farm Market
Right now, there is a celebration of all things Halloween at 75th & Valmont. During the weekend (uncertain about week days, so call to check), enjoy a tractor and hay ride. Pumpkins are spread out for the young and old to sort through. Priced by size, there are also easily reached stacks of pumpkins without a trek into the field. And there is still plenty of delicious produce at Munsons Boulder farm market. On a recent visit I stocked upon fresh potatoes, corn, peppers – some hot, some not, a wonderful sweet onion and a local apple for a snack.

This isn’t part of the farm. I saw this horse on my drive to Munsons Boulder farm market. 75th and Valmont is readily accessible from Boulder, Niwot and Louisville. It is really close when you consider it, yet feels a bit off the beaten path. What’s your favorite farm stand?
