Poppy Cafe is a wonderful little eatery with an emphasis on Farm to Table, organic food. The dining establishment also prides itself on serving some delicious gluten free foods. The owners have created a joyful spot featuring an inspired scrumptious menu. And bonus, they cater to folks working to avoid gluten. This is a great bistro to add to the list of Boulder eateries serving healthy food for happy people. Treat yourself to a gluten free waffle with butter and Vermont Maple Syrup.
On my visit Corinne was waitress, ambassador, bus person and more. I saw a chef behind the counter doing all the heavy lifting. The Poppy Cafe has a great ambiance; occupying a corner of The Peloton it is easy to miss. But if you go to the extra effort to find this gem, your taste-buds will thank you.
Poppy Cafe Food is Delectable
The food. OMG, it is good. Our order was fantastic. Served hot, with excellent flavors and a delightful presentation. I thoroughly enjoyed my Denver omelet. Easily the best part of this dish was the avocado. The omelet was filled with several cool chunks fresh Avocado. And not one mere bite, but several good sized pieces I enjoyed from start to finish.
The cheese was hot and melted and the diced bacon added a rich flavor to the eggs. Accompanying my eggs was a salad of lettuce featuring a blueberry vinaigrette and shredded beets/carrots. Not the usual potatoes and I enjoyed walking away from the table feeling energized.
Laid Back Vibe
Poppy Cafe has plenty of space to relax and a variety of tables. The ambiance is contemporary, with polished concrete floors and a mix of aluminum and wood table/chair sets. A candelabra dripping with wax on the bar is eye catching and adds to the really clean, bright and cheerful vibe. Try The Denver Omelet for breakfast or enjoy Roasted Brussels sprouts with toasted walnuts for an appetizer.
