I really want to thank you (again) for the real estate referral you passed along a decade ago. Hey, I know I thanked you back then. This isn’t me suddenly thinking a card is in order or something.
That single real estate referral from a decade ago is driving my business in 2014 and I really appreciate it.
Let me explain. About ten years ago, you mentioned your friend Jon from (back home) in Ohio. He was looking for a place to live in this area. Even though you and I are friends from Ohio, I had never met Jon before. Your introduction – your real estate referral – to Jon opened the door. I had to do the heavy lifting.
Well, I helped Jon find his first home in Boulder Colorado. That was way back around 2004. Years after, Jon and I would often get together for coffee just to stay in touch. His favorite spot was on The Hill near CU Boulder. After awhile, Jon introduced me to his good friend Jason. Jason never purchased a home in this area, but when he moved out to California, he asked me for a real estate referral – an introduction – to a local Realtor where he moved.
I was able to introduce him to the sister of a local Denver friend. Not only did Jason find a great place to live near the beach, he also made lifelong new friends. About a year after buying his home, Jason called to send me a real estate referral. His sister Christine needed a place in Denver.
I started working really diligently for Christine and Arnulfo. They are both immigration attorneys and super busy. They didn’t have time to see lots of houses, so I wound up previewing a great deal of property on their behalf. We only saw the best homes. Christine’s mother also wanted to stay in the loop, sometimes it felt like I was in touch with her more than my client.
But, as you can guess, I found a great starter home for Christine and her husband. Plenty of space to start a family and work on cars (the husband’s passion). Last year, Christine and Arnulfo introduced me to one of their attorneys, Jonathan. I really appreciate these real estate referrals. I helped Jon get a screaming deal on a great home with a killer city skyline view (its a great story btw, ask me about that transaction sometime). Jonathan has since introduced me to two new clients. I actually helped his friend Chris sell an investment property in Boulder before I was even able to close Jonathan’s new home purchase. And just the other day, I had coffee with another attorney that Jonathan knows and recommended contact me.
But it doesn’t stop there. Christine and Arnulfo also called this year. Their family is much bigger, the law practice is doing well and, you guessed it, they needed a bigger home. So I jumped to work, previewing homes as they are busier than ever. Success. I helped them find a gorgeous house in Stapleton with an amazing finished basement that even has a secret door.
Before I forget, that first real estate referral to Jon? I was able to introduce him to a mortgage officer that specializes in investment property. Jon purchased and sold some local investments before moving back East to marry his dream girl. When he made the move, I helped him sell his Boulder home for a tidy profit.
From that one, very kind referral, I’ve sold six homes, sent two referrals, been invited to three weddings and made a number of really memorable friendships. So I wanted to say thank you for the real estate referral. It is greatly appreciated !!
Best – Bob
PS: I know you also introduced me to Andy. I’m on my fifth transaction from that introduction, having just assisted his cousin Ben in getting under contract in a super competitive multiple offer bidding war for an amazing house in Arvada. Your introductions a decade ago account for a million dollars in sales this year and I really appreciate it. Below, check out the secret video I shoot of my clients and attach with offers – it is even better than a hand written note for personalizing offers in this crazy competitive market.
