Christmas Tree Recycling
Sure, lots of places recycle. That’s a given in today’s age. Lafayette Colorado is great about recycling and reusing and reducing the impact we have on our community. Yesterday I was happy to see I was one of several bringing my holiday tree for recycling.
Its pretty easy too – just tie the tree back on top of your car and the recycling facility is easy to access from South Boulder Road. Go south at the edge of the RV/Trailer Park just past the killer new swimming pool complex!
Lafayette is part of Boulder County and so that brings in a whole other level of recycling. Have you ever visited the CHARM facility west towards Boulder? It’s pretty amazing. You’ll find it in “Recycling Row” near 63rd and Arapahoe. This facility was the first of its kind when in opened in 2001. They take all sorts of odds and ends. Those quick to discolor plastic chairs that are sold every summer – you can recycle these. Or that yoga mat that is slowly becoming sticky and sitting all nicely rolled up in your basement from that time when you were sure you were going to do Hot Goat Yoga for life.
Side note: goat yoga is for real in Boulder.
Nearby is the Thorne Ecological site – be sure to check that out sometime and take the kids. Turns out, we have a saltwater marsh in Boulder County.
And just around the corner from CHaRM are more recycling facilities. In Boulder county you can recycle products like paint thinner and deck stain. Better yet – the facilities offer the opportunity for consumers to reuse products. There is a store where items deemed to be in good condition are “sold” for practically free. Great option for doing upkeep on your Boulder homes without paying a fortune (had to get that in there – I am a local Boulder Realtor after all !!).
