Boulder Colorado Housing Is Back

Boulder Housing Market

The Boulder Colorado Housing market has jumped back to life in a big way.  Sales volume is trending upwards steadily this year.  We have moved from a buyer’s market to seller’s market.  But what exactly does all of that mean?  And who am I?  Please read on.

Boulder Market

So what is happening in the market? Well, due to several different factors converging at once, we are transitioning into a market where sellers are more in control then buyers.  Just a few years ago, it was difficult to sell even the best of homes. Few buyers, lots of choices.  A few years ago, the economy was bleak and the country in a recession.  A few years ago, distressed property sales allowing buyers to practically steal houses.

Don’t waste time with a low ball offer.  Buyers nationwide are competing for homes.  Gone are the days of snapping up a house below market value.

All of that has changed. Today the economy is roaring back to life – just check out your 401K.  Inventory is greatly reduced and interest rates are fantastic.

The positive vibe in the economy is translating to first time buyers feeling confident in buying a house.  The low rates are giving pause to Boulder renters, who are discovering they can own for less than rent.

According to CoreLogic, home prices increased in 92 of 100  of the largest metropolitan areas over the past year.

Boulder Colorado housing is back, but with a catch. There are more buyers out there.  A lot more. And only so many good houses.  And this is creating a frenzy where homes sell in a flash, often times with multiple offers.  Sounds great if you are a home seller, but what if you are a buyer? Give me a call, we can discuss proven strategies to win the house of your dreams in a competitive situation.    I work with first time home buyers as well as buyers looking to buy up to a new house.  There are proven strategies we can follow to ensure you get your dream home.

  1. Great post, Bob! Yes, it appears the market is on fire right now. The home prices on our street have skyrocketed, it seems. Good for us, I guess, right?
