Looking for golf in Boulder Colorado? There are plenty of great golf course locations in Boulder and the surrounding area. I have even tried several (I’m not a very good golfer it turns out). Here is my recommendation on where to play golf and which courses offer housing options. After all, one nice thing about golf courses is homes backing to the course look over beautiful green fairways.
City of Boulder
Right in town is the Flatirons Golf Course. It is administered by the City of Boulder and offers some great Flatirons views. I personally took lessons there and have enjoyed the driving range as well. The private Boulder Country Club is located in Gunbarrel, the NE section of Boulder. There is a wonderful community of homes fronting the Boulder Country Club.
East of Boulder
Coal Creek Golf is a popular course in Louisville Colorado. Spanning each side of West Dillon Road, this course features home communities with great views. The course also offers a notable hill, visible from Hwy 36 as you approach Boulder. Another great Boulder golf course is Indian Peaks. It is located in Lafayette and immersed in a wonderful community of the same name. Everything from attached town houses to mega homes is offered in Indian Peaks. You’ll find white picket fences as well as homes with walkout basements and fantastic mountain views at Indian Peaks in Lafayette. Just east of Rock Creek is the Omni International Golf Course and Resort. Wonderful place to play 18 holes. I once witnessed a crazy cart “accident” during a Re/Max Alliance tournament — proof that even grown ups forget to be careful sometimes.
Also on the east side of Boulder is Erie. We love this course, not for the golf (I’ve played it twice) but for the annual fireworks display. Great place to see fireworks on July 3rd every year. Very family friendly show. Built around the Colorado National Golf Course is Vista Ridge, a wonderful community of affordable homes catering to both Denver and Boulder’s expanding suburbia.
North of Boulder Golf Course Options

Have a hankering for low key golf? Not afraid of rattle snakes or rock hard fairways? Be sure to check out Haystack. Named for the little peak standing beside it on the plains north of Boulder, this is a fun course to teach your kids how to swear, I mean, how to play golf. On the very northern edge of Boulder is another sharp golf course community: Lake Valley. This is the community for you if you are seeking a custom, one of a kind home with excellent views.
