I’m a Walking Dead fan these days. Not the tv show, have never seen it. But love the comics. The guys down at the local comic shop in Boulder recognize me now. Oh gosh – did I just say that in front of everyone? Well, I’m a big Colorado science fiction fan/geek. LOL. I’ve been reading books and watching movies since being hooked on Star Wars as a kid.
There are many connections to Colorado science fiction this year. I sure hope to attend at least one. I’ll be adding updates and information from time to time.

But if you are visiting Colorado or the area, you might want to take advantage of more that Colorado and Boulder have to offer. There are fantastic restaurants, exciting Alpine Slides in the summer and the amazing water park: Water World. Mile Hi Con
This year’s event, boasting over 80 authors is set to be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in the Denver Tech Center (7800 E. Tufts Avenue, Denver, Co 80237). Here is the schedule from the previous Con, quite a lot going on! Gaming is part of this Colorado science fiction convention. There are more details on the Facebook page for that. This year’s event is scheduled for October 24-26, 2014.
Starfest 2014
Coming up quickly is the Starfest 2014 event on May 2nd to 4th. I attended this Colorado science fiction convention a few years back. I discovered – I’m old school. New to me is the Steam Punk alt universe! There are also plenty of storm troopers roaming the halls and all sorts of costumed folks having a grand time. You’ll find comics, digital art, fantasy, gaming and an opportunity to meet your favorite actors and authors.
The Starfest 2014 Colorado science fiction festival will be at the Denver Marriott in the Tech Center. Check the official site for discount codes when booking a room. Or if coming from out of state, consider all the other great things you can do additionally while in Colorado.
Denver Comic Con
New on the scene and big from day one is the Denver Comic Con. This year’s event is fittingly on Father’s Day weekend aka June 13, 14 and15 — 2014. This incredible Colorado science fiction con will be held at the Colorado Convention Center (700 14th Street, Denver, Colorado 80202). This convention is so much more than comics. Colorado Science Fiction geeks are going to love the programming and people. Last year, William Shatner aka Captain Kirk aka The Priceline Guy was the guest of honor. Tickets sell out in advance, so visit the official site.
