Boulder has three fantastic recreation centers. I know – I have been to each one on multiple occasions. I’ve played indoor and outdoor volleyball at two locations, worked out on machines and with free weights, enjoyed the swimming pools and even taken advantage of the Date Night program.
I’m uncertain if the date night still exists, but it was a Kids Night Out. Bear loved it. For a few bucks, I dropped him at the rec center and then had a date, then picked him up and heard stories for another hour.

The recreation centers are a great part of living in Boulder. The East Boulder Rec Center has something for everybody. On a recent visit, I chatted with Dan, a resident who couldn’t stop telling me good things about the outdoor (lit) tennis courts. The play area is a delight with a large alligator and plenty of age specific stations. There are a series of outdoor handball courts – I visited recently during lunch hour and there was a large group playing a multiple person game.
Several outdoor sand volleyball courts are available as well as a gymnasium for indoor basketball/volleyball. There is a climbing wall visible from the main workout area with its extensive machine training stations and free weights. Of the main hall, there is a state of the art workout studio stocked with fit balls, dumbbells, bands, Bosu balls and more.

And then, of course, there is requisite swimming pool with fountain area for tots, slides for big and little kids alike, plenty of lap swimming lanes as well as plenty of space for organized water sports. Large windows let in natural light and offer grand views. Residents enjoy changing/shower locker rooms and their are plenty of lockers, both inside and out of the locker rooms.
There is even a senior center at the East Boulder Recreation Center. There is something for the whole family at EBRC. Please give me a call to talk about amenities in Boulder or real estate. I look forward to chatting.
