Lucky’s Market Expands
Making the news in August, is word that Lucky’s in Longmont opened ahead of schedule to raving fans. The new store is located at 700 Ken Pratt Parkway. Call 303-827-3684 or visit the website. The owners met while attending culinary school in Los Angelas, moved to Boulder and purchased the North Boulder Market. Perseverance, organic foods and a pretty lucky timing of the market has this grocery store expanding locally. Read more here.
Pretty lucky news for Longmont Foodies. Mod Market is opening a location right next door to the new Lucky’s! We love the salads. Tip; try the Flatiron salad and add steak for a delicious meal.
The Prettiest Towns According to Forbes
Forbes magazine released its annual list of the prettiest towns in America. Breckenridge Colorado makes the list. It is a gorgeous town with an eclectic Main Street offering a wider variety of dining and one-of-a-kind shops. Visit summer or winter for a great time.
Its Not Luck

Louisville Colorado was named to CNN Money’s Best Places to Live list. The town of 18,924 came in second on this year’s list. That is three times in the top five in 5 years. Not bad Louisville. The town has plenty going for it: great schools, a highly educated populace, strong real estate market and a lively downtown. I’ve writing reviews on dining spots such as Huckleberry, Zucca and The Porch Deli lately. Check out homes walking distance to downtown.
Town Center coming to Superior
The Superior Town Council gave final approval to the $700,000,000 Town Center project. This ambitious addition to Superior will include condos, town houses and single family homes. The center piece of the project will include a 150,000 square foot Recreation Center. Kids will be pretty lucky to skate on the two planned NHL sized ice hockey rinks. The Rec Center will also offer an indoor Lacrosse/soccer field and plenty more. Commercial development could include a convention center and additional hotel space. 1400 homes are planned for the community at the Southeast corner of McCaslin and Hwy 36.
Boulder Ranks # 1
And according to a joint report from research foundation Engine and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, Boulder is the # 1 city to start a tech company. The news was reported in the Daily Camera. Another reason it is pretty lucky to live in Boulder Colorado!
CU Boulder
Look around town and you notice the cars, the young people, the loud partying. Boulder Colorado University is back in business and 6500 freshman are moving into the dorms this week. A popular new program, the RAP, Residential Academic Programs is in place. And there are a few new dorms available including the deluxe Kittredge Central. Welcome CU students!
