Best Farmers Market Boulder Denver

#BoulderColorado farmer at market
One of the many farms represented at the Best Farmers Market (IMHO): #BoulderColorado

So where is the best farmers market around town? IMHO, whatever is closest to you and offers the freshest selection of fruits and veggies.  But then again I will drive out of my way for the farm fresh corn at Munson’s every summer in Boulder (75th and Valmont).  This post is derived from a Linked In conversation and my own experiences visiting Farmer’s Markets around Boulder.

# 1 The Eater published a great blog filled with photos on a little market in Larimer Square. The pictures make me hungry every time I look.   The site offers lots on eating, especially for Denver.

# 2 Boulder is the best Farmers Market in the area.  It is an extravaganza Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.  I’ve written extensive blogs: 2013 Boulder Farmers Market and Best Farmers Market.

Longmont’s bazaar is similar and run by the same group.  And Longmont is adding a second location.  Find it on 5th between Kimbark and Main.  I just found out about this new event that starts on June 25th from Culinary Colorado Food blog.  The Wednesday evening downtown location runs 4 to 8 pm.

# 3  My Denver Peeps swear the best Farmers Market in the region is on South Pearl Street in Denver.   This is down by Sushi Den (good landmark).  This market has  “Mom & Pop” grassroots; it was founded in 2001.  Over sixty vendors participate and each Sunday draws thousands of visitors.  Open Sundays through November 2nd, 2014; hours are 9 am to 1 pm.  Learn more about this amazing Denver neighborhood.

# 4 Louisville Farmers Market – great market in a great town.  Possibly best farmers market based on size and accessibility.  We found fantastic produce from several farms. One brings only local produce to market.  There were also delicious Tamales, amazing gluten free baked goods, live music and more. Just about everyone was offering free samples.  The music added a wonderful touch; bands play in a large open air structure. The market is open May 31 to October 11 in 2014.  Hours are 9 am to 1 pm.  See official site at FarmersMarketLouis.com .  The best address (GPS) for the market is 824 Front Street.

Lafayette runs a sister organization; it is on Sundays through September 28, 9 am to 1 pm at 400 W South Boulder Road; phone contact is 303-902-2451.

# 5 Broomfield has a groovy little scene. We visited last year and picked up some great veggies.  It is located on 287 just before you drive down the big hill towards Lafayette.  Held on Tuesdays through the end of September, Hwy 287 & 10th at Holy Comforter Church. Visit on Facebook.

# 7: Westmoor is on the scene with a brand new farmers market in Westminster Colorado.  Johanna with Colorado Realty and Property Management shares photos and says this is a great market to check out!
