Hey Bob it should be Boulder Colorado

Denver and Fort Collins Ranked Top 10 Business Cities

Big news in Colorado. Denver and Fort Collins have been ranked in the top ten by Forbes Magazine in its 15th annual Best Places for Business and Careers. That is two Colorado cities in the Top 10.

Fort Collins is a high tech haven, with chip makers HP, Intel and AMD all present. The Colorado State University offers excellent research resources and a constant stream of intern candidates. Denver ranks 6th nationwide. Central location, excellent highways for commuting and proximity to energy and mineral-rich mountains all add up to a great place for business.

With so much going for it, I think we’ll be Boulder Colorado rated in a top ten this year as well.

Market Shift And Value Gain

Home markets are up across the United States – unless, say, you are looking at Detroit where issues of insolvency at the government level are keeping foreclosures coming along. Meanwhile, Denver home values – on average – are now above the peak set in 2006 according to Case-Shiller. It is a strong reminder – real estate is very regional.

Be boulder colorado aware of mortgage rate data

Take for instance, Las Vegas Nevada. The home market there is up over 30% just this year. That is a very strong real estate market. However, remember Nevada was one of five states that accounted for 50% of the foreclosures during The Great Recession. So even though Las Vegas is up, home prices are still down from the peaks.

By comparison it could be Boulder Colorado has weathered the recession fairly well. Our values never plummeted. Today we are seeing solid growth and value gains. Regionally, Boulder is a very safe market.  Read the entire article.  What is likely? IMHO it could be Boulder Colorado continues to see good growth both in terms of price and volume.

Mortgage Rate Update

Mortgage rates are now in the hands of our national economy. Good news – job growth continued last week and the US stock market is doing well. Bad news – unemployment is remaining about the same and the number of jobs created was not as strong as predictions. The result: mortgage interest rates likely to hold steady this week, but not return to the lows of this Spring.

Bottom line: if you are getting a loan now, it is safer to lock than risk the rate going up further.

Now remains a good time to buy a home.  I can recommend a number of mortgage professionals and programs to assist you in buying a Boulder home.  The essentials today for home ownership: a good income and solid credit.
